Nurtured by the evolving roles of women in our society, a schism has formed, separating women into two distinct camps, characterized by the sisters with whom the Lord visited, Mary and Martha. This study explains the characteristics of this division and why "Marthas" may view their lives of Christian service as "second class" in comparison to the more visible and outgoing "Marys." By examining Marthas and the scriptural nature of their services, the study seeks to heal wounds, In Defense of Marthas.
